Bank Account

• Every bank statement for the whole year

• For each bank account that is relevant in any way

• Explanation of payments out of the accounts

• Details of all the banking into the accounts

Shares

• Every dividend statement received by cheque or direct to your bank ac

• Every dividend reinvestment statement

• Any ‘chess’ statements that you have received

• Each contract note for shares bought or shares sold during the year

• A printout of the quantities of shares on hand at year end, from your software, from your broker, showing closing share prices

Managed Fund Investments

• Every distribution statement received by cheque or direct to your bank

• Every distribution reinvestment statement

• Any ‘chess’ statements that you have received

• Each contract note for units bought or units sold during the year

• A printout of the quantities of units on hand at year end, from your software, from your broker, showing closing unit prices

Rental Property

• Each rental statement from the agent, and yearly summary

• Or bank statements showing rents received

• Loan statements for the whole year

• Amounts paid for rates, water, insurance, pest control, gardening, etc

• Details of repairs, with invoices, dates

• Depreciation report from quantity surveyor if you wish to claim

• Travel diary for inspections of the property, with distances and reasons noted

Medical Claims

• Keep receipts of what you spend for the family medical expenses

• Keep amounts received from Medicare and/or health fund

• Doctors, hospitals, dentists, spectacles, physios, chiropractors, naturopaths, pharmacies, specialists, etc

BAS

 • Bank statements covering all months in the quarter 

• Bank statements for all relevant bank accounts

• Card statements covering the whole of the three months will be needed

• List of all cash expenses from the three months
